Lord Ganesh
Lord Ganesh is
the most popular deity of the Indian pantheon. He is worshipped by hundreds
of millions of Hindus all over the world as supreme remover of obstacles and
bringer of good fortune. Ganesha’s job is to smoothen the path in this
troublesome world, thereby helping His devotees achieve their goals, and
perfect happiness too. Tradition has
it that Ganesh is very smart and always ‘with it’. That’s why in this day and
age He prefers to read the computer classic Visual Basic rather than some ancient religious tome. The sculpture
represents Ganesh in His Irish rebirth.
It took 5 craftsmen one year to hand cut and polish this delightful work
of art. The stone is black granite. It weighs about 2 tons. |
