Create or
Die
(Linga)
The Finger points to the basic law of existence, and which is
the primary driver (hence rule) of the life, namely, ‘Create or die’. If I
don’t create I die. But in order to create I have to die first.
And it is difference (see The Ferryman’s End sculpture)
that I have to create. For sameness creates no affect (i.e. is compressed out).
At least that’s what scientists mean when they say: “Only random events carry
instruction”.
In short, creating
(i.e. touching with) difference (that is to say, with the unexpected, for
instance, with ‘NO’) is spiritual, i.e. life giving. Abiding in sameness (in
other words, in the given or expected, for instance, in ‘YES’) is un-spiritual,
i.e. life denying, though very relaxing and pleasurable. It is ‘Difference that
makes a difference’ and gives life.
But what kind
of difference should I create? Well, any bit of difference is O.K. The bit of
difference I want to be, hence the way I want to connect to the world and shape
it with my differential touch and make it real, is my free choice.
Obviously, if
I want to be different, by touching differently, and thereby made real and
true, I have to stop being the same, and which is what I am right now.
O.K.?
Try the
following proposition: saying ‘NO’ (or being contrary) is
spiritual. Saying ‘YES’ (or being accepting) is un-spiritual,
unless saying ‘YES’ permits the ‘other’ to say ‘NO’. At first this proposition appears stupid,
counter-intuitive. Not so if you give it serious thought.
